Agreement
between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the
Government of the Republic of Turkey on mutual allocation of land plots
for the construction of diplomatic representatives buildings
(Ankara, on December 5, 2001)
The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (mentioned thereafter as the "Kazakh Side") and the Government of the Republic of Turkey (mentioned thereafter as the "Turkish Side");
With the aim to strengthen the traditional friendly relations between two countries,
To provide necessary conditions for the dwelling and functioning of diplomatic representatives and consular offices of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Kazakhstan and of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Turkey,
Taking into consideration Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations, dated 18th April 1961,
Have agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Turkish Side allocates to the Kazakh Side without any charge for period of 49 years with eventual extension for the same period of time, three land plots; the first: no. 25016/3 being comprised of 4294 square meters; the second: no. 25016/4 being comprised of 4066 square meters and; the third: no. 25012/6 being comprised of 2810 square meters hi the Diplomatic Site Oran in Ankara.
The afore-mentioned land plots in Ankara are to be delivered to Kazakh Side as cleared of all occupying buildings and edifices.
The Kazakh Side can build on the said land plots, the premises it deems necessary for the functioning of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Turkish Side allocates without any charge a villa of 260 square meters situated at Marti Cikmazi, no: 14, Bilkent - Ankara, until the end of the construction of the Embassy buildings of the Kazakh Side.
The Turkish Side undertakes to cover the rent expenses of the office of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan located at Ebuziya Tevfik Sokak, no: 6, Cankaya - Ankara, being comprised of 652 square meters, until the end of the construction of the Embassy buildings of the Kazakh Side.
In case the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara wishes to move to another building, the Turkish Side would have the obligation to pay the rent of the new premises up to 60, 000 USD per year. The premises will be chosen by the Kazakh Side in cooperation with the Turkish Side.
