Agreement
between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations regarding the exemption from
visa requirements for holders of UN
(Laissez - Passer) passports

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations, hereinafter referred to as «the Parties», taking into account the desire to strengthen friendly relations and wishing to facilitate travels of UN staff to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
agreed as follows:
Article 1
(Laissez-Passers) passports of the United Nations (hereinafter - the UN) are issued to officials of the UN under the UN Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations dated on 13 February 1946. The passport of the United Nations certifies that its holder is an official of the UN and it is issued only for official travel, namely travel, paid or authorized by the UN.
The passport of the UN can not be replaced by a national passport.
Article 2
Holders of (Laissez-Passer) valid passports of the UN may enter, stay and transit through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan without visas for a period not exceeding 30 (thirty) days within a period of 180 (one hundred and eighty) days from the date of crossing the state border of the Republic Kazakhstan.
Article 3
According to the national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan period of stay of holders of UN (Laissez-Passer) valid passports in the Republic of Kazakhstan without visa may be prolonged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to 3 (three) months on the basis of a formal written request from the UN.
Article 4
Holders of UN (Laissez-Passer) valid passports appointed to the Republic of Kazakhstan to work in the UN and accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the duration of their assignment, as well as their family members living with them, may stay on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan without visa for the period of service.
Article 5
Holders of (Laissez-Passer) valid passports of the UN, may enter or leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan at all border crossing points open to international passengers' traffic.
Article 6
