JOINT DECLARATION
ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND
(London, March 21, 1994)

1. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (hereinafter referred to as the Participants) confirm their desire to build on the friendly relations that exist between the two countries in order to expand and strengthen economic co-operation between the two countries to their joint benefit.

2. Both Participants recognise the importance of identifying long-term measures to provide a firm basis for the successful expansion of economic co-operation and confirm their desire to establish a framework for UK-Kazakh economic co-operation.

3. The Partiсipants emphasise their common intention to operate within the framework and principles of the European Energy Charter.

4. The Participants confirm their desire to encourage and promote co-operation between interested organisations, enterprises and firms in both countries on a competitive basis with the aim of advancing economic prosperity in both countries.
